Method Recap/Follow up

So now that I've had some time to spend with these recent Method products, here is my personal review. First up is the Omop. When I first saw these, I was immediately sucked in by the packaging. When I got it home, it put together fairly easily. I was a little concerned that the curved handle would prove to be difficult to store, but in the end, it isn't really a problem at all. I love the microfiber cleaning pad. It really seems to work well with my floor. However, I'm not the biggest fan of their sweeping pads. Being a graphics guy, I like that they used the logo as the debossed ridges, but I feel like they aren't deep enough. My old swiffer pads seem to pick up more because they have deeper ridges. But on the flip side, I do love the fact that the Omop pads are corn-based and degradable. I am not yet on a verdict as to whether or not I like the size of the cleaning head. Its a bit larger than my swiffer, but I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with it, but still wish the sweeping pads were a little more thicker/deeper.

Next up is the Method Bloq skin care line. I received a nice sample pack and was able to test out each fragrance and product style. Overall, I really like them. The scents are all lovely, and my favorites right now are the green mint and beach sage scents. I love the creamy textures. I only have two gripes. The shaving lotion is kinda weak. It doesn't seem to give enough lubrication when I shave. The second gripe is the hard plastic packaging makes it a little difficult to squeeze the product out- however, I found that if I store the product upside down, then problem solved. Gravity is your friend. The square design of it makes it easy to flip over, so perhaps it was designed that way... (or not?) Anyway- if any of you guys have these products, what is your review?

my favorite part about the o-mop was the recipes & serving suggestions that came in the instruction booklet!!

the "head" my O-Mop gets stuck, and flips over if. this is when i'm using the wood floor cleaning combo. does this happen to anyone else? i have to mop "vertically" to keep it from happening, so it defeats the purpose of having such a wide surface area to catch dirt
:(
it does, however, smell lovely...so i fight with it anyway!

I have some shower stuff in the blue plastic container that I like - I hadn't thought to flip it upside down to make it easier to get the stuff out, but I'm not very lucid in the mornings when I'm taking a shower. I like the smell a lot, but I think I like Fa better.

My OMop tends to flip over uncontrolably as well. I had an incendent this weekend where my trash can was tipped over (bad puppy) and needed a quick clean up job. The microfiber pad worked well-ish on the small dust particles. My vinyl floor is over 20 years old (I know gross) so that might be problematic. I find I like the microfiber pad better than the cleaning cloths.

I have the naked lotion in my shower which truly is scent free and has a good slip feel. A little bit goes a long way. I like the idea of turning upside down to help with the dispensing. I didn't even consider that!

I have some of the same problems with my o-mop...it flips and turns all over the place when I'm pressing down to push it forward or to bring it back towards me...I don't know how to make it stop. The cleanser seems to leave a good smell and shine though. It was interesting to me that they say no bad things are in the cleanser...but on my bottle I can't find any kind of ingredient listing to tell what it ACTUALLY does have in it. Anyone know?

I actually like the shaving stuff because I don't like really thick stuff when I shave my legs. It seems better suited for girls then guys.

i too have both the Omop and swiffer and prefer the swiffer by far. (what can i say? the brilliantly designed omop sucked me in!) for one, the omop is harder to push around. and if you are truly "mopping" the wet swiffer pads do a much better job of cleaning up messes than the Omop microfiber cloth which just seems to "buff" my laminate hardwood flooring.

i agree the omop cleaner has a better smell. but the swiffer is smaller and seems to clean better overall in my opinion

Was excited to get it for our vast wood floors but, alas the mop head kept flipping over so back to the store it went. That said, I love all the method product line. :)

I also found the Method Bloq to be hard to squeeze. Perhaps a softer material would work better, the fairly sharp corners seemed to make the edges to stiff to bend. Love the scents and the names of them. Very eye ctaching in the bathroom. I Love Method.

I have two dogs...
A husband who's an artist...
And I'm a baker by profession...

So my OMOP has been through quite the list of trials.

Like everyone else commented... it did flip over, but that was only on my first real mopping. After that, and with the application of more solution, that problem went away and I haven't experienced it again.
(And I use it almost everyday)

I agree with you that the type on the floor cloths isn't deep enough, I end up pushing dog fur around instead of picking it up, but either way, I do still get it picked up, so it could be worse.

Being a design nerd, I was a total sucker for the book and all the packaging that came with it for all the obvious reasons.

The one part of the OMOP that I am still COMPLETELY sold on is the shape of the cleaning solution bottles. They fit your hand perfectly, and I actually refilled the starter bottle with other eco-friendly cleaners and use it in my regular house cleaning.
There are some things that catch you off gaurd and you go, "huh, well of course that makes perfect sense," this was one of them.

I don't know if the Method Omop would work the same way, but i just use old wash cloths with my swiffer for all the floor cleaning stuff. I have to squirt the cleaner on the floor first, but I don't mind that at all.

I have no "flipping" problems with the OMop. As far as I'm concerned, it's genius, and I love the microfiber mopping pads. I usually scrub on hands and knees, but I feel like this comes close.

I don't like the disposable "swiffer" pads because I don't think they clean well AT ALL, but I think the same thing about the "real" Swiffer disposable pads. I really don't even see how people consider using those cleaning, because they are so lame, but jmo. Sweeping/vaccuming is much more effective!
