Martha's gray

This month's Martha Stewart Living is the "decorating issue" and features her amazing kitchen. Just as I was starting to ween myself of my gray obsession, Martha comes and pulls me back in. I love the images of her gray toned kitchen. It feels so fresh and warm with all the textures they put in. The stainless steel, the interesting patterns on the cabinet drawers, the organic glazes of the pottery, the veins in the marble sink... and I love the pops of white. She calls the paint she used on all the wood "Bedford Grey" and apparently this color goes throughout her farm. I also love how the fruit (although just props) totally comes out as an accent. A kitchen is all about food, and with this palette, any food visible really becomes the star. Actually, in retrospect, Martha was the first person that started my gray kick. Back during her Martha Stewart Apprentice show, I became fixated on the dark gray paint that was in her "conference room" set. Currently, I have a few pops of gray in my house, but I think I may need to figure out a few more ways to incorporate it more... hm...

I love that her kichen looks like a black and white picture. I credit you and Martha Stewart for introducing me to my new favorite color: gray! Thanks.

Mmm, "Bedford Grey" looks great! But, what IS the color? Spending a Sunday morning with the MSL decorating issue and my Ben Moore fan decks leaves me with the possibility: HC-91. It has a litle bit of green in it, which is probably why the oranges pop in her pictures.

I am trying to figure out the color of Martha's kitchen. I can't find any exact details anywhere.

I will check out the Ben Moore HC-91 mentioned above. Does anyone else know if that is correct - or if there is a closer color. I hope to match it in Ben Moore paint.

I am also trying to locate the Bedford Gray color. I want to use it on the exterior of my house. I checked Sherwinn Williams MS colors and couldn't find it there.

Any suggestions?

I have looked at HC-91 which is Danville Tan. I am not sure that it looks like MS Bedford Grey.I have checked with Sherwin Williams and they do not have the color. Any more suggestions as I want to use this color in a den. Just love it.

I have used MS paints before and called Fine Paints of Europe were I purchased her paint a few years ago. I was told that the Bedford Grey was a special mix and they would not have it.Also checked Sears with no luck.
Thought you might want to know.

Bedford Gray will be carried by Lowes Home Centers some time soon. Sirius 112, Martha Stewart Living, announced recently that the new color would be available Mid January 2007. Don't know if that is on schedule, but BEDFORD GRAY, and Jon, I share your love of it, will be in the palette.

do you think the bedford gray is the same color used in her kitchen on the MS show set? it looks lighter to me on the show but it must may be the lighting

Does anyone know what kind of stools Martha has in her kitchen?
